Getting Started
Q: Do I need a waiver?
A: Yes. Everyone in the building (climbers and spectators) must complete our waiver once per year. Save time: sign online before you arrive.
Q: What’s the check-in process?
A: Sign in at climbingroots.portal.approach.app, grab your personal QR code, and scan it at the front desk each visit.
Q: I’m brand new—can I boulder here?
A: Absolutely. We’ll give you a quick orientation on falling safely, pad awareness, and gym rules.
Q: Do I need a reservation?
A: No reservations needed for general climbing. Classes and groups do require booking.
Q: What should I wear/bring?
A: Athletic clothes you can move in. We rent climbing shoes; chalk is available.
Safety & Rules
Q: Is there top-roping or belaying?
A: We are a bouldering-only facility—no ropes or belaying.
Q: How high are the walls and how do I come down?
A: Walls are up to ~16 ft. Down-climb when possible; if you must drop, do not put arms back (fold them across you chest), land with bent knees and roll onto your back.
Q: Where can I walk?
A: Keep fall zones clear—no standing, sitting, or setting bags on pads beneath climbers.
Q: Can I climb barefoot?
A: No. Climbing shoes only (rentals available).
Q: What are the rules for chalk?
A: Liquid chalk, chalk socks or loose chalk are fine; keep it tidy and brush holds after use.
Q: Photos/videos?
A: Personal photos are welcome!! Please tag us on socials—but also respect others’ privacy and stay off pads while filming.
Q: Drugs/alcohol?
A: No one may climb while impaired. Staff decisions are final for safety.
Kids & family
Q: Minimum age to climb?
A: All ages are welcome! Come, sign your waiver and waiver of the minor then start climbing!!
Q: Supervision requirements?
A: Ages [under 14] require active, 1:1 supervision in climbing areas. Supervisors must stay off phones and off the pads.
Q: Strollers/infants on pads?
A: For safety, no strollers, toys, or sitting on pads.
Q: Birthday parties or school groups?
A: Yes—email [contact@climbingroots.com] for more info
Q: Do you rent shoes?
A: Yes—sizes youth to adult.
Q: Can I bring my own food/water?
A: Water—yes. Food in the lounge only. Please keep bottles off the pads.
Q: Lockers/showers?
A: We have lockers and showers. Bring a lock if needed.
Q: Yoga/fitness area rules?
A: Wipe down equipment after use; give classes priority when scheduled. Nobody under 14 years of age allowed in the weight area.
Q: How do the climbing grades work?
A: Problems are labeled V0 (easiest) → V-hard. Climb at your level and warm up thoroughly.
Q: How often do you reset?
A: New problems go up weekly; each wall section refreshes roughly every 5 weeks so there’s always something new.
Q: Can I request a route?
A: Yes! Drop requests at the desk or in the suggestion box; our setters review weekly.
Memberships & Passes
Q: Day pass vs. membership?
A: Day passes include all-day re-entry. Memberships include unlimited access plus [perks, e.g., discounts, yoga].
Q: Do you offer student/military/teacher discounts?
A: Yes—bring valid ID and ask for more info at the front desk.
Q: Can I freeze my membership?
A: Yes—[min freeze length, e.g., 1 billing cycle] with [freeze fee or free]. Email [billing@…] before your bill date.
Q: How do I cancel?
A: Email [billing@…] [X] days before your renewal. We’ll confirm in writing.
Q: Do you sell gift cards?
A: No, but you can buy a punch pass for someone else as a gift.
Classes, Coaching & Events
Q: Do you offer classes or intro sessions?
A: We run Intro to Bouldering, Movement Clinics, Yoga, and more. Book in advance in the portal or ask the staff for more info.
Q: Private coaching?
A: Yes—email info@climbingroots.com with goals and availability.
Q: Competitions/community nights?
A: YES! Follow @climbingroots and our events page on our website; we host comps and all kids of fun community events
Accessibility & Other
Q: Accessibility accommodations?
A: We welcome adaptive climbers. Tell the desk how we can help—spotting, pad access, or route selection.
Q: First-aid/AED?
A: Staff are trained in first-aid/CPR. An AED is located near the front lobby. Report all injuries immediately.
